Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal recently filed a formal complaint against Zainab Abbas, a well-known sports presenter, in response to a series of older tweets that resurfaced on the social media platform 'X,' formerly known as Twitter. In the complaint, the lawyer accused the presenter of making statements that were deemed "anti-Hindu" and "anti-India."
Zainab Abbas, the sports presenter in question, has now confirmed to multiple sources that she has left India and is currently in Dubai, dispelling rumors of deportation.
It's worth noting that Zainab Abbas was in India as part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) panel, serving as a presenter for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
As of now, the ICC has not issued an official statement on this matter.
Zainab Abbas is a highly acclaimed sports journalist from Pakistan, with a rich history of covering various international cricket events. Her most recent major assignment before the World Cup in 2023 was the Asia Cup 2023.
Before departing from India, Zainab shared her excitement on Twitter about exploring Indian culture and her enthusiasm for presenting at this prestigious event.
She mentioned, "I've always been intrigued by what lies on the other side, where there are more cultural similarities than differences. On the field, we may be rivals, but off the field, there's camaraderie, a shared language, and a love for art. In a country with a billion people, I'm here to represent, create content, and bring expertise from the best in the business. I'm truly humbled to be presenting in India at the Cricket World Cup 2023 for the @ICC once again. My journey away from home for the next 6 weeks begins now."
