In Lahore, the Gujrat chapter of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recently conducted a series of operations, resulting in the apprehension of four individuals, including three alleged human smugglers.
The suspects, namely Muhammad Azam, Saddam Hussain, and Liaqat Cheema, have been implicated in aiding citizens in crossing international borders unlawfully for a number of years.
These individuals are said to have enticed people with deceptive promises of guaranteed job opportunities in foreign countries and have taken substantial sums of money from these individuals.
In one case, they swindled a citizen out of Rs 6 million, promising to provide counterfeit documents that would facilitate the travel of his son and cousin to Italy via Libya.
In a separate operation, FIA officials successfully apprehended a wanted individual named Tahir Iqbal, who was involved in illicit currency exchange activities.
During the operations, the FIA officers managed to arrest these suspects and also seized various documents, registers, and mobile phones from their possession.
